At its Developer Conference (SDC2017), Samsung unveiled its all new 3D 360 Camera. 360 Round is first-of-its-kind device that is capable of capturing high-quality 360-degree images with advanced 3D depth. It is believed to be successor of Gear 360, which was released last year. The device mainly focused at creating VR Content rather then only just capturing 360 videos. Samsung's 360 Round camera is capable of live-streaming VR content in 4K resolution.
The 360 Round camera spots 17 lens, placed in arrangement eight stereo pairs sets horizontally (basic arrangement of 3D photography) and one single lens positioning vertically to deliver and live-stream 3D videos with 4K resolution and spatial audio. The 360 round camera spots IP65 water and dust resistance. Its fanless design helps to eliminate background noise and reduce weight too. The device comes with built-in software for controlling and switching images and videos as well as to manage the storage.
The 360 round is backed with LPDDR3 10GB and eMMC 40GB internal memory, with a support of expandable external storage up to 256GB via SD card and up to 2TB via SSD. For Post processing it supports Windows 10 PC with minimum configuration of at least Intel Core i7 or above and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 GPU.
Although there is no official announcement from Samsung, about the pricing of the device but according to CNET reports, the 360 Round camera may costs $10,500 equivalent to Rs 6.83 lakh
