iPhone 7 Rumors: Bigger Camera? Maybe A Headphone Jack?

The latest iPhone 7 rumors suggest Apple is going with a bigger camera (and a bigger CMOS), and might still retain a headphone jack on at least one version of the smartphone.

If you're tired of iPhone 7 rumors, then it's going to be an awfully long few months for you, assuming Apple has a big fall iPhone announcement, which it undoubtedly will. Plenty has been written about Apple's product cycle in general, with many worrying over whether Apple will pack big, monumental changes into the iPhone 7 or whether the device will be a smaller, incremental upgrade over the iPhone 6s.

Either way, the rumors are only going to grow as we get closer and closer to Apple's anticipated September announcement. Today, we have conflicting rumors. According to a new report from Engadget ,built on the back of an allegedly leaked photo of the rear of the iPhone 7,the device is rumored to be getting a larger rear camera (and a larger CMOS sensor for said camera) which would allow for higher quality photos shot in crappier lighting conditions.

The source of the photos, Chinese repair shop Rock Fix , also claims that the iPhone 7 won't exactly be losing its headphone jack, as many reports have recently indicated. Instead, the site says that Apple will be releasing three (three!) different versions of the iPhone 7: two 4.7 inch versions, split into one that retains the headphone jack and one that does not, as well as a larger 5.5 inch "Plus" version that's expected to swap out the headphone jack for a Lightning port.

Rock Fix previously posted photos of components allegedly in the new iPhone 7. If true, these indicate that the iPhone 7 will have two SIM slots,a first for Apple, which allows those who roam a lot to use different carriers sans issue. The 5.5-inch iPhone 7 is also rumored to have a dual lens camera. Rock Fix suggests that storage capacities in Apple's newer iPhone could go as high as 256GB, but there's no indication as to whether Apple will only save that for certain iterations of the iPhone 7, if true.

Previous rumors indicate the iPhone 7 will (finally) be both waterproof and dustproof, and use either Intel or Qualcomm modems depending on the carrier. We still don't know if Apple is officially ditching a physical home button on the iPhone 7, or whether the home button might fold into a larger, full device display on the iPhone 8.
