This is still Apple’s most aggressive pricing for India and the global market, opening up the premium phone segment for a wider audience.

The phone is the most affordable to have come out of Cupertino and is expected to be available in 110 markets by May 2016. Apple, in its inimitable style, calls the iPhone SE the “most powerful 4-inch smartphone”.

Beetel Teletech Limited has announced that it will offer Apple's newest iPhone, iPhone SE, beginning April 8 at its over 3,500 retail outlets across India.

Beetel Teletech is a part of US-based global distribution firm Brightstar.

iPhone SE has a 4-inch (10-cm) screen and represents Apple's second bid for the crowded mid-tier market after an unsuccessful foray three years ago.

The new phone, with Apple's vaunted A9 chip, is much faster than Apple's previous attempt at an entry-level phone, launched in 2013. The iPhone SE is expected to arrive in India in April for a starting price of Rs 39,000. Other specifications of the device are 12MP rear camera, 1,2MP front camera and Touch ID. It runs the updated iOS 9.3 operating system. It will be available in Silver, Gray, Gold, Rose Gold colours.


iPhone SE will be available at a starting price of Rs 39,000 for 16GB. In 2015, Bharti Enterprises sold majority stake in its telecom manufacturing and distribution arm Beetel Teletech to Brightstar for an undisclosed sum.


Sunil Bharti Mittal-led Bharti group ventured into telecom business in 1985 with introduction of Beetel and the company later diversified services
