In the ongoing auto expo 2018, the country's largest company Maruti Suzuki India has launched its all new Maruti Swift 2018. The new Swift 2018 is priced at INR 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base LXI variant, while the top-end ZDI + variant is priced at INR 8.29 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The third generation Swift was officially unveiled earlier last month as part of the media drives.

Apart from this, several other vehicle manufacturers have launched several new vehicles along with electric vehicles - like Renault TREZOR, Mercedes-Benz Concept EQ and many more. Recently, Mercedes-Benz introduced its electric car EQ concept. Lohia Auto also launched its electric vehicle. Yamaha also introduces it's first Artificial Intelligence Bike Yamaha R15 at the Auto Expo 2018.

Earlier, the country's leading car maker Maruti launched its Future S compact SUV in this auto expo and Honda launched its all-new Amaze. Some smart scooters were also launched during this expo. Auto Expo 2018 also witness the launch of a scooter running from the mobile app. This Expo will run in Greater Noida from February 9 to 14.

Let's have a look over some of the major launches at the Auto Expo 2018:

Maruti Suzuki Swift 2018:

The country's largest company Maruti Suzuki India launched its all-new Swift 2018 at the 2018 Auto Exp. The Swift 2018 car is priced at a starting ex-showroom price (Delhi) of Rs 4.99 lakh rupees for Lxi versions and LDI model is priced at Rs 5,99,000 (manual). The Petrol automatic transmission model starts at Rs 6,34,000 and the Diesel automatic transmission starts Rs 7,34,000 for Ex-Delhi showroom rates. Like the Maruti Dzire, the new Swift will also be available in four variants L, V, Z and Z Plus.

The all-new Maruti Swift comes with the enhanced width and wheelbase. Talking about the dimension, the new Swift has a length of 3840 mm, width 1735 mm, heihave pricedm, wheelbase 2450 mm, ground clearance 163 mm and boot space of 268 litres for storage. The new Swift 2018 comes with more cabin space as compared to the old swift. The new swift is 40mm wider as compared to the old Swift along with this new Swift also spots 20mm advanced wheelbase.

Mercedes-Benz EQ Concept:

The Mercedes EQ Electric Car Concept was first introduced during the 2016 Paris motor show. The Concept EQ can generate a maximum power of 400bhp. This Concept EQ can accelerate from 0 to 100 km within just 5 seconds and once full charge, it can go up to 500km. The Mercedes-Benz EQ Concept is powered by the highly efficient lithium-ion battery, which is designed by Delmar.

Lohia launches Comfort E-Auto:

Lohia Auto, part of Lohia group launched the high-speed Comfort E-Auto during the Auto Expo 2018. The battery-operated three-wheeler Comfort E-Auto is powered by the lithium-ion battery. The Comfort E-Auto can achieve a maximum speed of 30 km per hour with a millage of 80km. The company has priced Comfort E Auto HS at Rs 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and comes with facilities such as central locking and GPS.

 Oma Star LI 

Apart from this, Lohia Auto also launched Dual Power E-Rickshaw Hamrahi Plus, Comfort LXI, Oma Star LI, Oma Star XPL, Humsafar DLX Passenger (D + 5) and Humsafar 2000. The Humsafar 2000 and passenger vehicle Humsafar DLX are priced at Rs 1.95 lakh and Rs 1.90 lakh respectively.

Toyota Unvield Yaris Sedan:

The Toyota Kirloskar MotorToyota Kirloskar Motor unveiled the Yaris sedan at the Auto Expo 2018. With the announcement of Yaris sedan, Toyota has made its entry into India's most competitive B-Segment. 

The World Class Yaris sedan is a luxury car under Toyota's QDR (Quality, Durability and Reliability) Philosophy. The Yaris, targeted at the upper-middle-class consumer, is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine and is available in two transmission variants — a 7-speed CVT (continuously variable transmission) and a 5-speed manual.

Renault Showcases its Electric Car TREZOR:

The major European brand Renault showcased it's Electric Car concept - TREZOR at the Auto Expo 2018. Treasure has been a show stopper at the major global auto shows and has been awarded as the Most Beautiful Concept Car at the major global forums. Not only this, Treasure has also been a show stopper at the global auto show. The two-seater, TREZOR is 4.7-metre long, 2.18-metre wide and 1.08-metre high.

Tata unveiled its new H5X SUV and 45X hatchback concept cars:

Tata Motors lifted the curtain from its two new concept cars H5X SUV and 45X premium hatchback concept at the Auto Expo 2018. Talking about the H5X SUV, the most striking feature of the Tata H5X is its virtually floating roof (from the rear) and a slightly sloping, coupe-like silhouette. The H5X SUV concept displayed at the Auto Expo 2018 showed flaring wheel arches, slim headlights that merge into the front grille, and big fog lamps.

On the other hand, the 45X features sharp, well-defined lines, similar slim headlamps as on the H5X, angular fog lamp housing, and a thin grille. Along with this Tata Motors also showcased its new six electric vehicles across passenger and public transport segments. Among them was the most awaited electric variant of Tata's own race car, RaceMo.

TVS unwrapped Creon Electric Scooter, Cruiser Bike Zeppelin and Apache RTR 200 FI ETHANOL Concept:

At the Auto Expo 2018, TVS Motor unveiled its three concept vehicles. The TVS Motors three concept models include an Electric Scooter - Creon and two concept bikes - Zeppelin Cruiser and Apache RTR 200 FI ETHANOL Concept.

The Performance Oriented Electric Scooter - Creon features a next-generation electric motor with acceleration from 0-60 kmph in under 5.1 seconds and is claimed to have a milage of 80 km. The Creon battery can be charged to 80 percent capacity in just 60 minutes. According to the company, Creon is the next generation electric scooter.

The other major launches from TVS at the Auto Expo 2018 were two concept bikes Cruiser Bike Zeppelin and Apache RTR 200 FI ETHANOL. The Zeppelin Cruiser comes with a new 220 cc, four stroke petrol engine paired with a 1,200 watt electric motor with a 48-volt Li-ion battery, which can add 20 percent more torque to bike when needed.


On the other hand, the Apache RTR 200 FI ETHANOL is a revolutionary ethanol powered motorcycle which will run on 100 percent ethanol fuel. TVS Apache RTR 200 Fi Ethanol is also equipped with a twin-spray-twin-port EFI technology. This ensures better drivability, faster throttle response and further guarantees reduction in emission levels. The e85 version motorcycle gives a peak power of 21 ps @ 8500 rpm with a torque of 18.1 nm @ 7000 rpm and has an ascending top speed of 129 kmph.

After the success of the compact SUV Vitara Brezza, Maruti Suzuki has introduced its Future-S Concept SUV in Auto Expo 2018. Future-S Concept SUV is one of the first to be designed completely in-house by Maruti Suzuki and showcases a design language that India's largest automaker will take in the future. The Maruti's Future-S Concept SUV will be competing against Renault's Kwid and the Mahindra KUV100

Piaggio launches Aprilia SR 125 and Vespa scooter range with a new mobile connectivity app at Auto Expo 2018:

At the Auto Expo 2018, the Italian automaker Piaggio launched the Aprilia SR 125 and Vespa scooter range, including Vespa GTS, Tuono 150, and e-scooter Elettrica. The Aprilia SR 125 is priced at Rs 65,310 (ex-showroom Pune) for the Indian markets. This scooter comes with a three-valve engine and has 14-inch tires, which will give the riders a better grip on the road.

Apart from the Aprilia SR 125 and Vespa scooter range the Piaggio also launched a new mobile connectivity app through which riders can control features of Vespa and Aprilia through their mobile phones. The application allows riders to control and operate features of their Aprilia and Vespa two-wheelers. With this app, users will be able to book service on their app, locate neighbouring service stations and petrol pumps and connect with customer care executives. 

Hyundai Elite i20(2018) Facelift:

Hyundai Motors launched its premium hatchback the i20 Elite Facelift at the 2018 Auto Expo. The Hyundai i20(2018) Elite Facelift starts from Rs. 5.35 lakhs while the top-end petrol Asta (O) petrol starts at Rs. 7.9 lakhs. It's diesel variants start from Rs. 6.73 lakhs and the top-end diesel-powered model is priced at Rs. 9.15 lakhs. All variants of the Hyundai Elite i20(2018) Facelift comes with twin airbags and ABS as standard fare.

Honda launches Amaze, Civic and CR-V at Auto Expo 2018:

Honda unveiled the all-new Honda Amaze along with the 5th gen Honda CR-V and the 10th gen Honda Civic at the Auto Expo 2018. The all-The new Honda Amaze 2018 features a bold new design, which feels more in-line with the new Honda City. The Honda Amaze features sharp angular headlamps along with wider 15-inch wheels as compare the 14-inch wheels found on the previous model.

The Honda Amaze will be available in the two engines variants - a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Both the petrol and diesel models spot a five-speed gearbox transmission. The 1.2-litre petrol engine generates 87bhp @6,000rpm and 109Nm of torque @ 4,500rpm. While the 1.5-litre diesel engine is expected to generate slightly better power as compared to the current Honda Amaze's 98bhp and 200Nm of torque output. 

Honda CR-V 

Besides the new Honda Amaze, Honda also unwrapped the new 5th gen CR-V and the 10th gen Honda Civic at the Auto Expo 2018. The Honda CR-V will be available in a new 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine and 2.4-litre petrol engine. The 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine will be generating a power of 120 horses along with a peak torque of 300 Nm. while the four-cylinder petrol engine making will generate 184 bhp power. The new CR-V will feature LED headlights and taillights along with LED DRLs.

Honda Civic  

The Civic is Honda’s is most popular car worldwide. The 10th gen Honda Civic will be launching in India in two engine variants. This includes 1.8 Liter i-VTEC petrol engine and a 1.6L i-DTEC diesel engine. The 1.8 Liter i-VTEC petrol engine offers 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options and generates a power of about 140 Bhp. On the other hand, the diesel motor generates 120 Bhp power @ 300 Nm torque. The diesel engine offers 6-speed manual gearbox and is known for its high fuel efficiency and super-low CO2 tail-pipe emissions.
