The China-based Automobile company, Byton have unveiled a 'Truly Smart' Electric SUV that will surely replace your smartphone while driving. The SUV is loaded with a technology that will enhance your driving experience and will surely give you the experience and functionality of smartphone will driving. The Byton's SUV will take care of all the needs of driver and passengers while driving, with a simple hand gesture or voice command.
The base version of the car will have a 71-kilowatt-hour battery pack that can travel 250 miles on a single charge and will be available around $45,000. The advance version of the car which is more expensive will be able to travel 325 miles on a single charge. According to the manufactures, the base model of the car is able to charge its battery 80% in 30 minutes.
According to the manufactures, the SUV will be available for sale by the first half of 2020 in the Chinese market and later will be available in North America and Europe.
The dashboard can be controlled with hand gestures or touch
The SUV is loaded with various smart technology, from a sweeping display on the dashboard and a touchscreen on the steering wheel too. The SUV's “smart” features will let the future customers use hand gestures and voice commands via Amazon’s Alexa assistant to control the aspects of the car.
The SUV is also featured with various health monitoring technologies that are capable of monitoring the driver’s heart rate, weight, oxygen saturation, or blood pressure.
Byton has introduced another interesting concept, that the company calls Byton Life, a “smart and open digital cloud platform that seamlessly connects all your applications, data and devices.” According to the company, Byton Life is the technical backbone and will allow the driver and passengers to integrate third-party services like music and video streaming, and other ecosystems, like syncing to their fitness trackers or wearables.
Byton Life is an open platform, and the company is offering a software development kit, or SDK, for developers to build services for Byton.
Byton may become the future of Electric SUV's and may give a tough fight to Tesla but currently but on paper, Byton fails to match the Tesla on performance and price, and according to experts currently it lacks the charging infrastructure it requires.
