WhatsApp rolls out Quick Reply from Notification feature for Android

Popular instant messaging app WhatsApp has rolled out an Android update for select users. The new update offers support for quick replies via notifications. This new features is only available in the 2.12.560 version of the app, which is presently available for the beta testers who have signed up on the Google Play Store.

The new WhatsApp update is not yet available via the regular Google Play listing or WhatsApp website.

The update will enable the users to quickly reply to the messages right from the notification bar. However, the users will not witness any change in the notification alert when a message arrives. But, on expanding the notification bar one will see a 'Reply' option below the notification.

After tapping on the 'Reply' button the users will see a full screen quick reply overlay with a dialogue box and keyboard at the bottom for typing. This feature will send a reply without opening the app. In order to see the full conversation the users can tap on the message received.

Earlier this month, WhatsApp also added the document sharing feature which allows users to PDF files not only from the device but also from Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive accounts.
