Decide Yourself- Which one to buy at Rs 39,000? iPhone SE or iPhone 6S

Though Apple has dashed the hopes of many Indian buyers with the Rs 39,000 price tag of iPhone SE, there are still several people are looking for smartphones at that price point. It won’t be a surprise if such buyers keep iPhone SE in their list of options.

But, the price tag of Rs 39,000 puts iPhone SE in direct competition with Apple’s flagship iPhone 6S, which is available on Indian e-commerce websites for a little over Rs 40,000.

Both smartphones are quite similar – sharing features like the A9 processor, support for Live Photos and Apple Pay, 12MP iSight camera, broad 4G network support, 16GB storage, and hands-off Siri – but there are a number of differences between them too.

If you are looking for a smartphone at Rs 40,000 and are confused between iPhone SE and iPhone 6S, read our breakdown to see the major differences between the two...

#1. Screen size

iPhone SE is perfect for those who are upgrading from small-screen iPhones like 4, 4S, 5, 5C and 5S and do not want a huge change in screen size. On the other hand, iPhone 6S’s 4.7-inch display is ideal for those who want a relatively bigger display panel without compromising on quality.

#2. Camera

iPhone SE and iPhone 6S sport rear camera with 12MP resolution, f/2.2 aperture and 4K video recording.

However, what the smaller iPhone lacks the high-resolution 5MP front camera of its bigger sibling and has to settle for a 1.2MP for shooting selfies.

#3. Battery

iPhone SE is expected to have the same battery life as iPhone 5S, which runs for a little less than a day on single charge with moderate-to-heavy use. In contrast, iPhone 6S delivers battery life of over a day with the same level of usage once it is fully charged.

#4. Design

iPhone SE sports the same look as the three-year-old iPhone 5S and is nearly indistinguishable except for the rose gold colour option and matte finish on the edges.

On the other hand, the iPhone 6S features the newer design with curved edges and has the same colour options as its newest sibling.

#5. Size

In terms of size, iPhone SE is a lot more pocketable due to the smaller dimensions (123.8x58.6x7.6mm) than iPhone 6S (138.3x67.1x7.1mm). Moreover, it is also a little lighter at 113grams than its bigger counterpart (143grams).

So, if you are looking for a device that fits easily into your palm, then iPhone SE is a good option for you.

#6. Fingerprint sensor

One edge that iPhone 6S has over iPhone SE is the inclusion of a faster fingerprint sensor. The second-generation Touch ID fingerprint sensor of iPhone 6S is a lot faster than the one on iPhone SE, if speed is a matter of concern for you while unlocking a device.

#7. 3D Touch

iPhone SE does not have 3D Touch, the highlighting feature of iPhone 6S that lets users use certain functions of an app right from the homescreen. Assuming Apple will use 3D Touch in its upcoming flagships, iPhone SE users will miss out on a new way to navigate their device.
