After numerous leaks the Tech Giant Google is all set to launch its highly-anticipated Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones today on October 4, 2017. Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are the next generation smartphone of the to the ‘Made By Google’ smartphones Pixel and Pixel XL which were launched in October, 2016.
The search giant has been releasing several bits and bytes about the launch since last month. The first ever teaser comes on the form of a short YouTube video.
The launch event is being held in San Francisco at 9:00 am PDT, which is about 9:30 pm in India. CEO Sundar Pichai and other top officials of Google are giving a keynote presentation to shed light on the salient features of the phone. The entire event is being live-streamed on a dedicated YouTube Channel.
Highlights of Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL
Pixel 2 XL specs
1. The Pixel 2 XL will have a massive 6-inch display, an increase from the previous model.
1. The Pixel 2 XL shapes in a curved QHD screen which is to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 mobile processor.
2. It serves a pack of 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage.
3. Display size is not yet sure, but the sources comments to it to have a screen-to-body ratio between 80% and 85%.
4. It is equipped with a Wide Color Gamut and Google Imaging Chip as well as Optical Image Stabilization. Yet it is unclear whether OIS is present in both, or just one of the sensors.
5. IP67 dust and water resistance and Gorilla Glass 5 offers some durability to these devices.
6. It is powered by a 3,520 mAh battery, not yet revealed by anyone so far till this year.
7. Pixel 2 XL would have dual stereo speakers and not the headphone jack.
8. Pixel 2 XL will be presented to you with an Active Edge feature on the left side of the device which lets you squeeze the phone to launch Google Assistant or to mute incoming calls and alarms.
9. Pixel 2 XL Expected Price - $849 for the 64GB and and $949 for the 128GB version.
Also USB-C headphones can be grabbed form from certain markets, but it is not yet clarified.Pixel XL smartphone provides you a feature characterizing with best of its cameras quality.
Google has well maintained with its specification regarding cameras in the upcoming generation handset. Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL is very much presented to you with dual pixel cameras with OIS. But this might be for the back and front cameras.
Pixel 2 Specs:
The Pixel 2 characterize almost similar to the Pixel 2 XL, but has a minute differences.
1. The Pixel 2 will have bezels on the top and will have a 5-inch display in a smaller body.
1. The main difference is that it will be removing the 3.5mm headphone jack and adding dual stereo speakers, likely in the larger bezels present on this design.
2. It includes an FHD screen in place of the curved QHD screen in the Pixel 2 XL.
3. The screen of this smartphone is smaller and lower resolution which packs a 2700 mAh battery vs the larger 3520 mAh option in the Pixel 2 XL.
4. Pixel 2 Expected Price - $649 for the 64GB and $749 for the 128GB version.

The search giant has not yet revealed what it will be launching at the event. According to the reports that have been doing rounds on social media, New Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL phones, Google Home Mini and Google Home Max smart speakers, A “Pixelbook” tablet or laptop and A new version of the Google Daydream View VR headset are expected to be launched at the event today.
