Audi Q8 Coming in India 2018 : The upcoming Audi Q8 will be a coupe-SUV and will rival the likes of BMW X6.

Audi Q8 spotted in india

Testing of  Audi's upcoming coupe-SUV, the Q8 was recently spotted testing in India. These are some of the first clear images of the front section of the SUV and as you can see, though it's not camouflaged, the test mule has no badging what so ever. The Ingolstadt-based carmaker has been putting the upcoming Audi Q8 through its paces in India for a few months now and this is the same unit that was spotted a few months ago, judging by the registration number. Audi is currently testing the SUV in some other countries as well, taking climate, road conditions and such other aspects into account.

First Q8 in india

These are first, clear pictures of the new Audi Q8, a sporty, coupe shaped iteration of Audi's flagship SUV, the Q7. The Audi Q8 concept was showcased at the 2017 North American International Auto Show and the spy pics suggest that the production spec Q8 may carry the same design cues. The raked wind screen and sloping roofline, for instance, is similar to the concept that was showcased

The SUV was snapped in Mumbai while it was on test. The large, octagonal grille is probably one of the biggest we've seen on an Audi. The headlamps are sleek and we expect Audi to offer a Matrix LED setup. The door handles are conventional instead of the flush units that were seen on the concept. Expect the Q8 to feature frameless doors, as seen on the concept Q8.

Audi q8 coming soon

Though the test Q8 is heavily camouflaged, you can notice the LED tail lamp and the LED strip the runs across the bootlid.

The cabin is expected to get a slightly different layout, compared to the Q7 and a few additional features. Expect the Audi virtual cockpit to feature in the Q8 as well. We expect Audi to offer a four or five seat configuration.

Details about q8

The concept Q8 is a shade over 5m long and the wheelbase measures 3,000mm. We expect the production variant to measure the same, when it comes to dimensions.

Powertrain options are not known as of now, but we cannot rule out the possibility of Audi introducing a hybrid motor in addition the same diesel engine that powers the Q7.

Audi is expected to reveal the production spec Q8 in 2018, and given the presence of the BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE in India, it may come to our shores, soon after the international launch.

Audi q8 first look in india

We first saw the Audi Q8 in its concept from early this year at the 2017 North American International Auto Show, in Detroit. Back then we had told you that the Q8 will not essentially be bigger than the Q7 but rather a more stylish and expensive model, with a more coupe-SUV like design. Similar to the concept version, we see that the prototype model also comes with a large one-piece grille with space for the four-ringed logo at the centre. On either side, the SUV comes with stylish LED headlamps, and large air intakes below them and a well-sculpted bonnet.

From the sides, you'll notice that the all-new Audi Q8 comes with a set of stylish alloy wheels, but the production model might come with different ones. The ORVMs may also not be production-ready but the taillamps are LED units that come with high-mounted LED position lights. The Q8 also comes with a sloping roofline, stylish roof spoiler, and a massive bumper diffuser with two integrated exhaust pipes.

While engine details are yet to be confirmed, Audi Q8 is likely to be powered by a 3.0 TFSI six-cylinder engine that comes with a mild hybrid setup and an electric powered compressor. Audi says the motor is capable of churning out 469 bhp of power and a whopping 700 Nm of torque. The powertrain comes mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and it is said to have an electric-only range of about 60 km.
